Today, we had the opportunity to attend the Piedmont Park Landmark Lunch for the second year in a row. This event, which was the fifteenth annual such gathering, was quite the affair. Many people donned their favorite hats for the lunch, and the weather was perfect for it!
This year, all the focus was on the Piedmont Park Expansion and Piedmont Park's newest landmark, The Legacy Fountain. we dined under a tent atop the beautiful new Upper Greensward that overlooks the dog parks, the Lower Meadow and the recently completed Six Springs Wetland.
After their long day and night of reporting bad weather, we were thrilled that Glenn Burns (WSB-TV), Ken Cook (Fox 5 Atlanta) and Cris Martinez (CBS Atlanta) double-fisted enough coffee to stay awake for the discussion about Extreme Weather Patterns in Georgia. I know, right, what a topic for the day after such devastating storms... but I promise... our invitation had that as the topic when we received it a month or two ago... so it was purely coincidental.
Needless to say, we had a great time socializing and eating, and we are so proud to be a part of The Piedmont Park Expansion. It certainly is a legacy project.

The Piedmont Park Landmark Lunch
Can you tell that we like food? We had pecan crusted chicken with pickled peach and red onion relish drizzled with country mustard & honey vinaigrette, carolina rice salad with fava beans & wild mushrooms, haricon vert bundles and sweet buttermilk cornbread with red pepper jelly & cream cheese. It was so delicious! And I can't leave out the refreshing pomegranate lemonade!
What cute little boxes for the yummy, handmade mini peach pies!
